About happy camp

Each day your child will be exploring
their, fine/gross motor skills, sensory play,
academics, literary, language skills,
social skill & movement!

Camp begins with “Morning Meetings” as soon as the children arrive, which foster a sense of community allowing the children to get to know one another and sets the foundation of the day.

“Think & Speak” is a time to focus on cognitive and language skills that will be targeted around the weekly theme and daily objectives. Academics takes a fun spin on things during this segment!

“Sound & Waves” follows and the children will alternate throughout the week between music, dance, yoga and auditory processing games.

“Brain Food” is a literal term where the children break for snack time and refuel their brains as well as engage in social language appropriate for meal time, improve fine motor skills for using utensils, and feeding, drinking from a cup and those wanting to work on feeding such as tasting new foods will take place during this time.

“Sensory Play” follows and the 6 senses (yes, vestibular is a sense too) come alive! “Mighty Muscles” focuses on gross motor skills including throwing, kicking, jumping, running and even organized sports.

Children then will engage their “Mini Muscles” and transition into fine motor skills including arts and crafts, handwriting and even cooking. .

“Functional Fun” focuses on the social skills needed for daily and imperative tasks children face such as playing with peers, defending themselves if they don’t like something, turn taking, ordering food at a restaurant, talking on the phone and more! Campers join in on the lunch bunch meal and share another meal together, refueling, reiterating skills worked on during snack time and enjoy their home cooked meals.

“Imagination Station” is where cooperative play meets creativity! Science experiments, gardening, construction with recycled materials and team work come to life!

The end of the day calls for “Recap & Review” where concepts taught throughout the day are discussed once more to ensure understanding and highlight each child’s favorite part of the day!

“Relax & Ready 2 Go” helps transition the campers to get ready for their next adventure…. seeing you! Soft classic music and nature sounds are played to promote relaxation, lights are dimmed, and self-regulation and calming strategies are utilized to aid with transitioning to the next task. Campers return the next day with the sense of familiarity and eagerness to take exploration to new heights!
